Skaters for Portland Skateparks mission is to create a comprehensive system of world-class public skateparks in Portland, Oregon.

Our vision is to make skateboarding safe and freely accessible to every skateboarder every day for everybody’s benefit.

Skaters for Portland Skateparks is a non-profit corporation, tax exempt pursuant to 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

Pier Park Opening Day – October 14, 2006

Directions: Take N. Lombard Street North out of downtown St. Johns to N Bruce Avenue. Pier Park Skatepark entrance is on N Bruce Avenue at N Hudson Street. Portland, Oregon.

Opening day was great. The culmination of five years of effort by Skaters for Portland Skateparks. The weather cooperated and 500-1000 people came to check out the official opening of the new skatepark by Commissioner Salzman and Commissioner Adams Opening Day festivities were sponsored by Nike Skateboarding. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

The park still draws 50-75 skaters at a time on a dry day.
